India Stone companies are fighting for the Russian market(2009/8/24)

In recent years, Russia, the market demand for granite and marble, natural stone exporters in India began to vie for market share in Russia. June 23 to 27, 2009 , 15 Indian companies participated in Russia stone stone exhibition displayed at a series of stone products and processing techniques. India's largest stone companies to participate in Russia's Stone Fair, held annually on the Russian market with the Indian business community in stark contrast to the indifference.

It is reported that India's exports of natural stone from 2005 to 2006, less than 6 million U.S. dollars, up 19 million U.S. dollars last year. India Stone is mostly through China or other countries before reaching the Russian market, its price is directly exported from India than doubled 3 times. In Russia, India, granite and marble are mostly used to decorate public buildings or private homes, such as the new city of Kazan underground passage that is used in India stone.

Indian Natural Stone Products Association President Veeramani, said: "Our current goal is to reclaim the Russian market." Europe and the United States market is the major export markets, India Stone export value in last year, reached 1.35 billion U.S. dollars, but the current economic crisis a severe blow to the Indian stone industry. As Russia's construction boom, its natural stone market this year increased by 5% ~ 10%.

India Granite, president of GEM, Mr. Veeramani said: "We must strive to develop in order to catch up with China and the West's appropriation of the amount of the Russian market." He believes that India missed the Russian market in 1990 to fully open up opportunity, followed by the development of the Russian market it is lagging behind China and the West.
